Not Insured? Not Going Far...

Good afternoon All,

The Burnage Neighbourhood Team have been busy around Kingsway and the surrounding streets targeting uninsured drivers as part of our ongoing commitment to Operation Skyvale and keeping our roads safe.

Over the past couple of weeks a number of vehicles have been stopped and dealt with after checks showed they were being driven without valid insurance. Unfortunately for some drivers, that meant their vehicle was seized and they were left planning an unexpected walk home. The only thing getting covered that day certainly wasn't their insurance policy!

While some driver knowingly take the risk, it's worth remembering that being uninsured can happen innocently too. Changes to policies, missed payments, incorrect vehicle details or assumptions about being covered under another policy can all leave people unknowingly uninsured.

We'd encourage everyone to take a few minutes to check their insurance is valid, up to date and that you're covered for the vehicle you're driving. A quick check today could save you a significant fine, points on your licence, the seizure of your vehicle, and a much longer journey home than you had planned.

We'll continue carrying out proactive checks across the neighbourhood to help keep our roads safe for everyone.
